About
Jason Bullock spent more than a decade building and running rental businesses on Hilton Head Island and in Charleston, on reservation software written for somebody else's business. Bodhisys is what came out of that.
Like most operators, Jason ran bookings, inventory, payments, waivers and guest messaging on a reservation platform. It handled the booking. Everything after the booking sat somewhere else: deliveries on a routing app, equipment condition in a notebook, team coordination over text, and stock counts across locations in a spreadsheet that was wrong by Saturday afternoon.
The platforms were doing what they were designed for. They were designed for tour operators, where the customer comes to you and the thing being sold stops existing at the end of the slot. A rental leaves the building, goes to an address, comes back marked and has to be made fit before it can go out again.
Jason built the system he had been assembling by hand. Bodhisys has been running live rental operations since 2023, and the largest bike rental fleet on Hilton Head Island takes its reservations, routing and returns through it.
He talked through the years behind that, and what customer service costs to do properly, with Nicole Mahoney on the Destination on the Left podcast.

Bodhi is a word for awakening. Against a rental business that sounds far grander than software can deliver, so the working version is smaller and more useful: knowing what you have, knowing where it is, and knowing what it is doing.
Most operators lose that around the second location, and everything after it is a workaround. One record for a unit, one place a guest replies to, one view of stock across every site you run.
That idea also decides how this site argues. Every capability page ends with what it does not do, and every comparison opens with what the other platform does better. The longer version of the name sets out why.

Three jobs cover almost every rental business. Something goes out and comes back. Something with a key goes out and comes back. Somebody is guided through an afternoon and the kit for it goes out and comes back.
The operational shape repeats and the detail never does, which is why the platform is organised by what you rent as well as by what the software has to do.
No monthly fee. A 4.5% charge is added to each reservation and paid by your customer at checkout, so you receive your list price and the platform costs nothing to run.
There is no implementation fee and no charge for the migration. Where Bodhisys is the wrong fit you will hear it on the first call rather than after three meetings.
6% of that is added to your guest's checkout. The other 3% is card processing, billed by the platform that runs the payments. With Bodhisys you keep your own processor and pay them directly, so the only rate beside our name is the one at checkout.
Two of them, quoted as they wrote it. One runs deliveries out of a fleet of trucks, the other rents vehicles across three markets.
Last year, we increased sales by 15% while operating with 11% fewer trucks. Bodhisys has completely transformed our logistics planning, allowing us to operate more efficiently and even service areas over 12 hours away.
With Bodhisys, we've been able to streamline our entire workflow. The ability to track deliveries, capture vehicle condition photos, and manage guest documentation all in one place has reduced errors and saved our team hours every day. It's brought a level of organization and visibility we didn't have before.

Bodhisys was founded by Jason Bullock, who spent more than a decade building and operating rental businesses on Hilton Head Island and in Charleston. He built it because the reservation platforms available to him were written for tour operators and left the delivery, condition and multi-location side of a rental business to spreadsheets and workarounds.
The platform has been running live rental operations since 2023 and covers reservations, inventory across every location, seasonal rates, routing, delivery confirmation, waivers, guest messaging, cancellation protection and returns. There is no monthly fee. A 4.5% charge is added to each reservation and paid by your customer at checkout.

Bodhi is a word for awakening and sys is for system. The working version of that in a rental business is knowing what you have, where it is and what it is doing, held in one record. The longer answer.
Since 2023. Every peak season since has been taken on the platform, including the one behind the largest bike rental fleet on Hilton Head Island.
An operator whose revenue is mostly timed tours with rental inventory alongside it, and a buyer who needs a long catalogue of third-party integrations available today. Both are better served by an incumbent.
