Comparison

Bodhisys vs FareHarbor

FareHarbor suits an operator whose revenue is mostly timed tours with rental inventory alongside it. Bodhisys suits the operator whose inventory physically leaves the building and has to come back.

Where FareHarbor is stronger

FareHarbor has the largest install base in the category, real distribution through its reseller network, 24/7 phone and email support, and an onboarding team that builds your dashboard and moves your future reservations for you. Its booking flow sells a timed seat well.

It also carries a rating of 4.8 from more than a thousand Capterra reviews. Bodhisys has nothing approaching that volume of public feedback, and an operator who weighs peer evidence heavily should count that.

Every comparison on this site opens this way, before the argument. Why that is.

Where the architecture differs

FareHarbor was built to sell seats at a time slot and extended to rentals afterwards. Its own rental solutions page shows the seam: it markets inventory automation, cleaning time blocks and calendar views, and the closing section on that page describes a platform designed for your tour business.

Read that page for what it leaves out. Delivery to an address does not appear. Neither does route sequencing, proof of delivery, or a service state that keeps a returned unit off the board until it is fit. Waivers arrive through digital waiver software partners rather than as part of the platform.

For anything that gets driven away, the gap that costs money is documentation. A listed driver on a Bodhisys order uploads a licence and proof of insurance before arrival, signs the waiver on the same link, and passes a sobriety check, and the vehicle stays held until all four are done. On FareHarbor that sequence is assembled from partner tools.

Seasonal rate tables are the other one. Rates by date range, day of week and length of stay, edited by the operator with no ticket to a vendor, are not something FareHarbor publishes as a native capability. Check its current documentation against your own rate card before you take that from this page.

For an operator whose units go out on a van every morning, those absences are the operation rather than the edge cases.

The addresses come off the reservations. The run is built as one loop that turns right out of the depot and right back into it, so no road is driven twice and no stop is passed before its window opens.

Every stop closes with a photo, a timestamp and a location, which is what settles a delivery dispute in October.

What FareHarbor costs

FareHarbor publishes no monthly subscription. It earns through an online booking fee of about 6% added to the customer's checkout total as a convenience fee, which is the same shape as the 4.5% here and a higher number.

Underneath that sits the card processing. FareHarbor runs the payments, so the rate is theirs to set and it lands on the operator rather than the guest, at roughly 3% of gross bookings. With Bodhisys you keep your own processor and pay them directly at the rate you negotiated, which is the only place that 3% is not ours to charge.

Their situational fees sit on top of both: an offline booking fee of up to 6% on manual, phone and walk-up entries where online volume falls below their threshold, and a 2% channel fee on OTA bookings on top of whatever the OTA itself takes. Whether you carry those depends on your mix, so they are their own line in the calculator rather than part of the headline.

6% on the guest and about 3% in processing on you is roughly 9% all in against 4.5% here, which is why the comparison worth running is the all-in effective take rather than the headline rate. Put your own mix of online, phone and OTA volume into the calculator.

Bodhisys has no monthly fee. A 4.5% charge is added to each reservation and paid by your customer at checkout, and nothing else is billed by us.
